ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਪੂਹਲੇ (ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ) ਦੇ ਵਸਨੀਕ ਸਨ। ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਰੋਜ਼ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ 21 ਪਾਠ ਜਾਪੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਫੇਰ ਕੁਝ ਛੱਕਦੇ ਸਨ। ਖੇਤੀ-ਬਾੜੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਆਏ ਗਏ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰਦੇ। ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਲਈ ਲੰਗਰ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਛਕਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਦਾ ਗਵਰਨਰ ਜ਼ਕਰੀਆ ਖ਼ਾਂ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਬੜਾ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਸਿਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣ-ਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਰੱਖੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਇਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਵਿਰੁਧ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਘਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ। ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ, ”ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਦਾ ਛੱਕ ਲਵੋ।” ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਦਾ ਛੱਕਿਆ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਨੇ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਹਨ ! ਇੰਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਵੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ ਤੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣ। ਪਰ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਜਾਨ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਧ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕ...
